Pasta! If you have never made your own, you should really give it a try. Not only is it SO delicious, but there is nothing more satisfying than eating something you made completely from scratch. Pasta is easy to make and the recipe is 1:1:1:1 🙂 Simple enough to remember :). 1 cup flour: 1 egg: 1 tbsp water: 1 tsp oil: 1 tsp salt. You start with the flour in the bowl and make a well in the center and put the rest of the ingredients in the well. Whisk the ingredients together, slowly incorporating the flour (you won’t need all of the flour!) until the dough comes together and is no longer sticky! (See above) Turn the dough out onto a board with some flour and knead it until elastic. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it sit for 15 minutes. Finally, start rolling! Roll it out until it is suuuuppppeeerrr thin…like you can almost see through it. (This is when a pasta roller is helpful…but a good old fashioned rolling pin will work just fine and will get your strength training out of the way ;).) Finally, cover the whole dough in plenty of flour, roll the dough up and then cut across so that you end up with rustic looking strips of pasta! Throw in boiling water for about a minute or two and ENJOY.
